Cleaning your kettle is not a daily job by any means, but you should clean your kettle out at least once every couple of weeks. To really fight through any lime scale you can add some vinegar and water to the kettle, then leave this to boil. We recommend a 50:50 ratio of water and vinegar for best results. Once boiled, let the vinegar and water mix together and cool down for around 15-20 minutes and then just tip it down the sink. Repeat this trick just two more times and that’s it. Job done. You may, however, want to boil the kettle several times after this cleaning process to remove the vinegar smell, but even adding lemon juice to a few boils after will do the job. Vinegar is a terrific cleaning agent, and it definitely has the power to descale a kettle.
